Iconic 4000E Console Preamp Punch for the 500 Series Format.

The SL4K-E01 is a 500-series microphone preamplifier based on the original E01 schematics of the legendary 4000E console. Equipped with the genuine Jensen JT-115K-EPC input transformer, the SL4K-E01 delivers that unmistakable depth, crisp transient snap, and silky top end that shaped countless hit records throughout the '80s and '90s. Now, you can build this iconic console channel for your own setup.

For absolute precision and instant session recall, input gain is controlled via a high-quality stepped Grayhill switch. The dual op-amp gain topology combines rich analog transformer character at the input with an ultra-clean, electronically balanced THAT 1646 output driver.

To offer maximum flexibility during tracking and mixing, the SL4K-E01 features a dedicated Output Fader (-∞ to +12dB). Drive the input stage and Jensen transformer hard for harmonic saturation, then safely back off the final level before hitting your converters. Complete with switchable LED metering (Pre- or Post-Fader), continuous 24dB/oct High- & Low-Cut filters, and a DIYRE Colour Module slot, this preamp delivers true desk character in a compact 500-series module.
